As Executive Vice President, Hector Velez’s role is to design and execute winning strategies for HireStrategy in the areas of business development, client relations, and account management. This includes promotion of HireStrategy’s service offerings to prospective clients, as well as directing account development and customer service activities within our existing client base.
Hector graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and spent his early career in management consulting for Accenture and KPMG. He then later joined Source Services, where he recruited technology professionals and worked with Paul Villella during the company's accelerated growth into the top rated and largest revenue staffing operation in the mid-Atlantic region.
While Hector’s present function is to lead client acquisition and customer service for all of HireStrategy's recruiting practices and service dimensions, Hector has been especially instrumental in the development of HireStrategy's Technology practice and Executive Search capabilities. His technical background, industry expertise, and close-knit ties to the local Executive community have been key to HireStrategy’s success in these areas.
Hector is a recognized thought leader in the field of Human Capital Management and maintains strong ties within Washington area HR organizations. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Northern Virginia Workforce Investment Board (NVWIB), is President if the HR Leadership Forum (HRLF), and is a member of the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC), the Washington Technical Professionals Forum and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). He also consults to trade associations and non-profit organizations that wish to help their members with career management and professional development.
Hector is an accomplished speaker in the areas of HR Leadership, Career Management and Talent Acquisition & Retention, and is open to opportunities to present on these topics for local area events.
